On-Demand Billing
On-demand billing is a pay-as-you-go billing method. The system settles accounts every hour, calculates fees based on your actual resource usage, generates bills and processes payments.
Applicable Scenarios
On-demand billing follows the "pay-as-you-go" principle and is especially suitable for:
- Business scale fluctuates significantly, making it difficult to accurately predict resource needs
- Resource usage is temporary and sporadic in nature
Billing Process
- Account Top-up: Ensure sufficient account balance above the system's estimated usage amount before use
- Resource Usage: Resources can be used immediately after activating on-demand billing, with system billing based on settlement cycles
- Fee Settlement: At the end of each settlement cycle, the system calculates fees based on actual resource usage and unit price, generating a bill
- Automatic Deduction: System automatically deducts bill amount from account balance; insufficient balance triggers overdue processing
Overdue Processing Mechanism
Time Period | Processing Mechanism |
---|---|
Bill Generation | System generates bill and automatically processes payment |
Recovery Period | When account is overdue, system moves resources to recycle bin |
Resource Destruction | Resources will be destroyed and data permanently deleted if overdue status remains unresolved |
Advantages
- Pay-as-you-go with high flexibility
- Precise billing based on actual usage without waste
- Quick resource scaling based on business needs
Disadvantages
- Higher unit price compared to prepaid options
- Potential resource shortage during peak periods
Prepaid Billing
Prepaid billing adopts a yearly/monthly subscription model. You can choose to pay upfront for one month, multiple months, or multiple years. After payment, the system immediately allocates cloud resources for your use until recovery upon expiration without renewal.
Applicable Scenarios
Prepaid billing is especially suitable for users who:
- Have stable and predictable business needs
- Require long-term cloud resource usage and value cost efficiency
Billing Process
- Product Selection: Choose desired products, configurations and pricing plans on the platform
- Order Confirmation: Verify order information and complete payment
- Bill Generation: System generates bill containing purchase and renewal information
- Expiration Handling: System implements service suspension and resource recovery when resources expire without renewal
Expiration Processing Mechanism
Time Period | Processing Mechanism |
---|---|
7 days - 1 day before expiration | System sends expiration reminders through multiple channels |
Expiration day - Before service suspension | Service stops but data retained if not renewed |
Resource Recovery | Enters recovery status after expiration |
Resource Destruction | Resources destroyed and data permanently deleted if unhandled after recovery |
Advantages
- Lower costs with discounts for longer periods
- Guaranteed resource availability with long-term reservation
Disadvantages
- Cannot unsubscribe resources at any time due to resource lock
- Limited configuration adjustments, less flexibility
